Alana Battad, Historian
At a young age, Alana developed a passion for photography and math. Upon entering high school, she took a photography class to improve her skills, and decided to join the math team, which was introduced to her by her close friend, Kaitlyn. As a sophomore, Alana competed on Seabury Hall's math team, which placed 1st in Maui Math League and 1st at the Hawaii State Math Bowl. Alana also enjoys shooting targets with the Seabury Hall Air Riflery team, rallying with teammates on the Seabury Hall Tennis team, and playing piano. In her spare time, Alana volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, where she works with young children. Currently a junior at Seabury Hall, this is Alana's second year as Maui Math Circle Historian. She is responsible for capturing the students' growth and development in mathematics through photo and video. When she was introduced to Maui Math Circle, she was excited to have the opportunity to combine her skills in photography and math to support the next generation.
