This past Saturday, a group of Seabury Hall Middle School and Upper School students volunteered at Pu’u Kukui Elementary School for the fifth session of the Maui Math Circle to help students learn advanced math concepts and problem solving skills.
There were over 35 students in attendance who are enrolled in third, fourth, and fifth grade in schools throughout Maui. The students learned about exponents and arithmetic sequences.
We would like to thank our math team coach, Mitchell Krulewich. Thank you to our student leaders, Kalan Birnie '17, Jasmine Doan '15, Gigi Ivarsson '14, Kevin Lewis '15, Lilia Maeda '16, Andie Matayoshi '14, Bjorn Nelson '16, David Shiraki '19, Kady Tanaka '19, Reina Tanizaki '14, and Carter Umetsu '14. Thank you to McKayla Wandell, a Baldwin High School student who also volunteered.
